After a very successful summer tournament held at the Caleta Hotel and the RAC event we are now making preparations for the 20012 Gibraltar Cahess Congress events to be held end of January.

Chess in Gibraltar

There has been a surge in chess going now for eight years running we have had the envios events of the Gibraltar CHESS congress at the Caleta Hotel .



Our players have done us proud once mor and proof is the gaining of second place at the amateurs by Freddie Poggio and Luis Manneto who also were accompanied by Luis Raffo, Alan Gravette, Tom Bath and Mario Garcia.



In the challengers we also had Young Jr Master Stephen Whatley only 10 years not yet gained but givin his opponents… Continue

TARIK CUP MATCH REPORT

CALPE CHESS CLUB GIBRALTAR versus RAC CHESS CIRCLE PLAYED 20th JUNE 2009 CALETA HOTEL

Nine members of the chess circle, some with their wives, visited Gibraltar for the fourth in the series of these matches to accept the challenge from the Calpe Chess Club. Though the RAC Chess Circle had won the first two matches in 2006 & 2007, the Calpe Chess Club had wrestled the trophy from
